Owen Truns 4

I cant believe that my little guy is 4. Time is going by so fast. It feels like yesterday I was putting him in his crib and checking on him every 5 minutes to make sure he was still breathing ( first time mom thing. LOL)  And now I drop him off at preschool and look at him through the window into the backyard as he plays with his sister. Where did the time go.

For the kids birthday I take them out for doughnuts and chocolate milk.  We put a candle on the doughnut and sign to him. Doughnuts are a special treat in our house to the point where the kids think they get a candle on them whenever we eat them. I hope the kids never out grow this growing tradition we have going.

And of course our birthday minute kiss. Look at my silly kid.

Owen just loves playing with Lego's. So it was a perfect fit to have a Lego party. I made a Lego cake and cup cakes with Little Legos on top  made out of Air Heads, found the tutorial here over at Little Family Fun

And of course no party is complete with out a sign. So I did my best at a Lego man.  Owen liked it. Even though he is making his monster face.  He was so happy as his friends started to show up. When one of his friends from school came he was so happy. He ran to the door and introduced her to his is cousins and sister. Then said to Alex " Thank you for coming to my party" How cute and sweet is that.

It was a great party filled with friends, family, good food ( a nacho bar), and Love.

Bike ride

It was warm outside and the sun was out, a perfect day for a bike ride. This is our 1st bike ride not on our street. Can you see our little monkey making sure her new bike is OK?

As I look at my two monkeys I cant believe how big they are and that we are on a bike ride at the lake to the park.

Owen rides his bike like a pro. Emily is still learning how, she always wants to do what her big brother is doing. I know she will be riding just like Owen in no time. But for now she still needs a little help from us.

As we got closer to the park Owen would yell "all most Emily all most Emily" Emily would yell "I see it Owen" They are to cute for words some times.

We had a great time playing at the park.

Owen showing us his super hero pose.

As Emily runs around she yells princess.

One bike ride done but many many more to come. I cant wait!

Owen truned 3

My little man is 3. I cant believe how fast time goes by. Owen is into trains, he loves them. SO we have a trained themed party.  Here are a couple of pictures of the train all the fun train things I did for Owen's party.

We were not able to get more pictures of Owen opening his gifts because he opened them so fast it was like a tornado. But with every gift he would call out what it was and say "oh , wow, look" It was so funny.

It was great party.

We also went to dounuts for breakfast.

I give my kids a birthday minute kiss every year.

Owen Playing Soccer

On Friday I came across a add for a local soccer program, Soccer shots. And they had a program that Owen could play, a 11 week program. The first day on Saturday ( the next day). I did not want to tell Owen about it just in case it was to late to sign him up. It was not to late!!!!
After we ate breakfast I asked Owen a few questions.
Me "Owen do you want to do some thing new and fun today?"
Owen "Yes mom, what?"
Me " You are going to play soccer with other kids at the park. Do you want to do that?"
Owen "YES!!! Lets go. I want a number. Lets go mom lets go"

After getting dress and a quick call to Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Nathan we were off.

My little guy was a little shy at first. But with Owen this is normal. One of the coaches say this and took Owen by the hand and help him get over his shyness. As a parent who was shy as a child it always makes me a little worry at first. At the first water break he came running to me saying. "Mom I cant do it" This made me sad. I explained to him that it is OK that he feels a little shy. Then I reminded him that he felt a little shy when we started going to kids club ( the gym) but he now loves going and the same with Swim lessons. He loved at me and said "OK mom"  He walked to the rest of the kids. The next water break he came running over and said "Mom I did it I did. I play soccer ball." My little boy was playing soccer running and kicking the ball and having fun.
They even played a little game. Owen was on the yellow team. Before they started to play he ran over to me to show me his yellow shirt. He did a great job!! When he had the ball Emily would yell "Go Owen." Way cute.

On the way home Owen asked me "Mom I want to play more soccer ball"" I think he liked it. He could not wait to tell his dad all about it and show his hand stamp and sticker. Owen even showed people at Costco.

The kids were covered in my makeup. They were so proud of themselves.  Owen said "look mom I'm a monster" Emily said "I am pretty" Thank goodness for baby wipes. Have a great day and a great weekend!

My Sweet Little Boy

I want to share with you some thing that Owen did that just made my day. Emily, Owen and myself were playing with the blocks on the ground.  I love to see the kids play together, and get along. All of a sudden Owen stood up and gave me a hug. He gave me a big bear hug around my head, and would not let go. I could hear his heart beat. It reminded me when I was pregnaet with him. At the end of my pregnancy I had to go to antenatal testing 2 times a week for the last part of my pregnancy. I can remember siting in the chair listenng to his heart beat. And now here I am with my 2 year old giving me a bear hug around my head listening to his heart beat. When he finally let go I gave him a kiss and said "Love you little man" He gave me a look and said "Mom"

"Its Owen""

Well today I need a fast art project to do with the kids. Owen and Emily were full of energy and looking for some thing to do. And this was all before breakfast. I wanted to do some thing different for them than just handing them paper and a couple of crayons. Owen loves to trace his hand or mine and color it in. So I taped up a long piece of paper on our sliding glass door and grabbed a couple of crayons. I had own stand with his back to the paper and tried to trace him. Trying to get a 2 year old to stay still is hard. But when he turned around he jumped up and down and said "It's Owen It's Owen" Emily even got in the fun.

I Love her little hair style

Mud play

Emily is exploring more and more each day. So I thought it would be fun
to play in the mud today. Owen was my helper with the water. Emily
liked the feel of the mud in her hands. And yes she did try to eat it.
That is why I only have a couple of pictures. Owen loves playing with
his cars in the mud making tracks and then cleaning them off with the
hose. Soon both kids were sitting in the mud covered and covered with
mud but having fun.
Have a great weekend.

Terrible 2 at the Buck House

The terrible 2 behavior that I have heard about, shows it's ugly little
head every now and then. But today...... Owen asked for cereal for
breakfast. As I was pouring the bowl, Owen asked for a cookie. Well this
was the start of an hour fit, filled with whining and crying for a
cookie. Let's hope the rest of the day goes better.
P.S. Owen did eat his cereal. I took a picture of him when he was crying for the cookie. He looks so sad. LOL
